(SPT) Full Time Evening Shift 2:30pm-11:00pm. Must take Calls We
are North Shore Medical Center. Our primary function is to offer
continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services
on a 24-hour basis, under physician directed care and RN
supervision. We service a multitude of patients and their families
across our vast network, while remaining committed to the

medical, dental, and vision insurance. POSITION SUMMARY: The
Surgical Technologist assists in surgical operations under the
supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, or other surgical
personnel. They ensure the operating room environment is safe,
sterile, and equipped with the necessary instruments and supplies
for surgery. Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical
instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes. Sterilize instruments
and ensure all materials meet infection control standards. Assist
surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
Maintain a sterile field and monitor aseptic techniques throughout
the procedure. Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and
after surgery to ensure accuracy. Handle specimens properly for
laboratory analysis. Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly
before and after operations. Collaborate with nurses and surgical
teams to ensure patient safety and smooth workflow. Support
post-operative clean-up and prepare the room for the next case.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (including required
licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):
High School Diploma or equivalent One year OR Experience preferred.
Certified Required (CST) with NBSTSA Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification required from American Heart Association Strong
knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical procedures, and medical
terminology. Excellent communication, teamwork, and attention to
detail. Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test
screenings.
