plays a critical role in delivering intensive outpatient treatment
programs designed to support individuals struggling with mental
health and substance use disorders. This position involves
conducting comprehensive assessments, developing personalized
treatment plans, and facilitating therapeutic group and individual
sessions to promote recovery and wellness. The therapist
collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to monitor client
progress and adjust interventions as needed to ensure effective
care. A key outcome of this role is to empower clients with coping
strategies and life skills that foster long-term sobriety and
mental health stability. Ultimately, the IOP Therapist contributes
to improving clients' quality of life by providing compassionate,
evidence-based therapeutic support within an outpatient setting.
What We’re Looking For A licensed mental health professional (e.g.,
LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) Strong clinical skills with a
patient-centered approach Ability to work collaboratively within a
multidisciplinary team Compassion, professionalism, and commitment
to high-quality care Minimum Qualifications: Current licensure as a
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional
Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or
equivalent in the state of practice. Experience providing therapy
in an outpatient or intensive outpatient program setting. Strong
knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities for mental health
and substance use disorders. Ability to maintain accurate clinical
documentation and comply with HIPAA regulations. Preferred
Qualifications: Certification in addiction counseling (e.g., CADC,
CAADC). Experience working with diverse populations including
adolescents, adults, and families. Training in trauma-informed care
and motivational interviewing techniques. Familiarity with
electronic health record (EHR) systems. Bilingual abilities or
experience working with non-English speaking clients.
Responsibilities: Conduct thorough clinical assessments to
determine client needs and treatment goals. Develop and implement
individualized treatment plans tailored to each client’s unique
circumstances. Facilitate group therapy sessions that encourage
peer support and skill-building. Provide individual counseling to
address specific mental health or substance use challenges.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, case managers, and other healthcare
professionals to coordinate comprehensive care. Monitor client
progress regularly and document treatment outcomes in compliance
with regulatory standards. Educate clients and their families about
mental health, addiction, and recovery strategies. Maintain
confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and organizational
policies. Skills: The IOP Therapist utilizes strong clinical
assessment skills daily to accurately identify client needs and
develop effective treatment plans. Communication skills are
essential for facilitating therapeutic groups and individual
sessions, fostering a supportive and trusting environment.
Collaboration skills enable the therapist to work effectively with
multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic client care.
Organizational skills are critical for maintaining detailed and
compliant clinical documentation. Additionally, cultural competence
and empathy are applied consistently to engage clients from diverse
backgrounds and support their unique recovery journeys.
